About Academic Illustrations

Anna Ratcliffe is a cartographer and illustrator with over 30 years’ experience. Her work has featured in more than 80 research papers as well as numerous publications. These include The Welsh Academy Encyclopaedia of Wales (2008, John Davies), The Encyclopaedia of Environmental Change (2024, John A. Matthews), Sea Slugs of the Red Sea (2008, Natalie Yonow), and An Historical Atlas of Pembrokeshire (2019, David W. Howell).

Anna is also co-author of the research paper ‘Snow avalanche impact craters in southern Norway’ (2017, John A. Matthews), and she is honoured to hold the position of Honorary Member of the Jotunheimen Research Expedition.

Anna's work has primarily focused on geography and related disciplines, but she is always open to exploring new subject areas. Anna welcomes opportunities to collaborate on projects in fields such as the biosciences, medicine, and beyond.
